Lapscheurse Gat

The Lapscheurse Gat is a creek created by inundation as a tributary of the Zwin. The original inlet formed the border between the Staatse and Spanish Netherlands and today forms the border between the Netherlands and Belgium. The Lapscheurse Gat is named after the nearby town of Lapscheure and is reclaimed and thus cut off from the sea.
