This polder at the foot of the Brabant Escarpment was reclaimed in 1685. The original pattern of ditches is still present. Due to groundwater seepage, it is a humid area with plants such as wood sorrel, royal fern, cyperus grass and plumose grass. Screech owls live in the pollard willows. The greylag goose and greater white-fronted goose also use this as a resting area.
