Meiduinen & Groeve Boudewijn

The area was a sand quarry between 1962 and 2004. This relict of a Brabant Escarpment excavation and its steep walls is still clearly visible. Clean groundwater seeps out of the steep edge and forms flow channels to wet spots. Unusual plants such as marsh marigold germinate in these wet places. Bog mosses give the first impetus to the recovery of the vanished peat landscape.
